Transit Key Blade Only Replacement

This is an appreciation post more than anything and hopefully points someone in the right direction.

I recently needed to source a key blade for Transit. Easy you think. Think again. No ones interested in supplying a key blade only.

Ford will only supply a key fob and blade. Then program it, quoted £240.

Local well established key cutting shop outside Sainsburys would copy the existing key, but a complete fob and key. £260.
Point blank, will not cut a key blade only.

Local auto locksmith, would only supply a complete replacement fob and blade – £165

I think the ultimate point for most of them is, its not worth them cutting a key blade only. Theres no profit in it. Everyone is interested in the big bucks.

But, theres always a way and a man on eBay – that can supply a key from a photo or the key blade number tag, that would of come with the vehicle when it was new.

I received my key blade next day and it fitted perfect. I wish this business all the success in the world.
