The Red Shed, gearbox mount replacement
Little update on this one. It had been banging (gearbox trying to part from cradle) about every time I pulled away and it’s fair to say that the front gearbox mount was knackered.
Not opting for anything special, I went with the cheapest pair I could find on eBay. Completely unbranded. Can’t imagine the little 55 horse’ under that red bonnet are going to rip it apart to quickly!
Easy simple job – up on a pair of ramps, support the gearbox with a jack, undo the front and rear cradle bolts (18mm socket), remove the mountings (17mm socket & spanner), refit new mountings, refit cradle.
Result; can pull away again without the gearbox trying to jump off the cradle.
Only a few tools required;

Info on types of gearbox mountings
Notes on the mountings – there is essentially 3 different references for these, but near enough all achieve the same thing. One is a basic block, the other 3 are more designed to reduce vibration and perhaps hold more weight?
Some aftermarket cross references use multiple Ford references, as allways.

Manual Gearbox with a Zetec-E engine
Well it gets a bit tricky here as there is no listing with Ford – The front says ‘on request’ and the rear just doesn’t exist in the picture.
The front bracket, 6755707 is listed as coming with the front mount but the rear is in-descript – the bracket says ‘insulator’ in the description so it could be part of that, 7072754.
Both references don’t seem to mean anything in the after market.
All of my Zetec-E engined mk3s have had same as the Diesels.
Uprated Mounts
If your after uprating then Vibra Technics are the ones;
